Are you looking for fun and engaging activations at your event that align with your impact angle?
Activations are such a great way to create energy and connection between the attendees, and I’ve seen some really awesome ones at events that I’ve photographed!
Here is a list of six activations I’ve seen at events that have had great interaction and really engaged the attendees. All are based in or around Vancouver, and each of them offer a service with an impact angle so you can be confident in knowing that your event activations are conscious and mindful of how they are run in relation to materials used and environmental impact.
1. Bring in a Caricature Artist
Create personalised art for attendees! Having a professional caricature artist at your event is fun for the person getting the caricature, and also fun for other attendees to connect over whilst they’re watching. Vancouver based Sarah Draws A Crowd offers both live traditional drawing and digital caricatures depending on preference.
Ink Tattoos are great! The booth is owned and operated by a local Vancouver based certified make-up artist, Federic. The tattoo designs are applied using a stencil and an airbrush gun, and the paint is water-based vegan, gluten, paraben, mica, and silicon free. Designs last for up to 2 days and can be washed off too with soap and water.
Ink Tattoos has a large selection of stencils for tattoo design and also offer custom stencils - great if you are organising a corporate event.
Are you looking for a lead activation that really stands out? Consider getting a customized interactive video game created. Go2 Productions is a Vancouver based interactive projection mapping. What I’ve seen this look like at one recent event is a video game of falling planets projected onto a wall - players throw a ball to hit the planets and score points. The more planets that are hit, the more points they get! This was a corporate celebration event, and the specially designed game was a really fun way to get people laughing, engaging, moving and connecting.
This is an entirely digital experience so there is minimum waste here with this activation.
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen me post about this. Full disclosure - I do offer the Boomerang Booth as a service myself. And full disclosure part two - event attendees always have a lot of fun with this and it goes down so well!
The slick-looking portable booth creates a library of fast-paced animated gif/boomerang files that are sent instantly via text message to anyone. Guests can save them and share them on their social media platforms too. The whole experience is digital with little energy consumption and no waste when using it.
The Onyx LED dance floor is a family-owned business based in Vancouver. The LED dance floor creates an infinity depth illusion of 4ft, and looks so great at the events I’ve seen it at.
Materials used on the dance floor are all sourced locally from the Vancouver area, are zero waste and the floor is low energy consumption itself as well.
Create interactive murals at your event! This digital graffiti wall is 7x10ft and it’s a really fun interactive experience to bring event guests together. The experience can be tailored to event requirements including personalized branding, and there’s an option to create a ‘colouring book’ on the wall as well as bring in a local mural artist to create live art. Support digital, support local art, and create an art piece that is transient in time, and lives forever digitally.
